태국정부는 2013년 9월 18일 국가 특별경제구역청 나콘메솟을 딱주의 메솟에 설치하여 국경무역과 공단개발을 진착시키고 있다.
수요일 잉락치나왓총리는 국가특별경제구역청과 만나 메솟 특별경제구역에 NNT설립을 요청하였다.
NNT는 메솟특별경제지역의 투자와 인프라 기술을 지원할 예정이다.
BANGKOK, 18 September 2013 (NNT) - The National Committee for Special Economic Zones aims to boost border trade and tourism by setting up “Nakhon Mae Sot” in the western border province of Tak.
Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra on Wednesday chaired the first meeting of the National Committee for Special Economic Zones. The meeting considered the establishment of the special local administrative organization of Nakhon Mae Sot and the Mae Sot special economic zone. The committee voiced support for the project, expecting it to help benefit the Mae Sot area in terms of technology, infrastructure, trade and investment.
According to the committee, Nakhon Mae Sot would help spur local investment, increase border trade value and stimulate tourism since both Thai and foreign businessmen were confident and eager about investing in special economic zones in Thailand.
